“If you want an absolutely terrific, completely enjoyable, memorable, stress-free day (or half day) on Lake Tahoe, then Tahoe Jet Boats is the best way to go. We researched all the boat rental shops and prices on Yelp, but we think TJB offers the most exceptional value. TJB provides: An expert captain who knows all the sweet spots you might never find yourself; free use of water toys including water skis, a 3-person towable tube, wakeboard, floaty noodles, wetsuits, life vests, goggles, fins, snorkels; a fast-as-lightening jet boat with both sunny and shaded seating areas; photographs and video of your trip…the list goes on and on. The skipper, Dave, is also the owner, and he went out of his way to ensure we had a good time…and we sure did. Dave picked us up on the west side of the lake, about a 30-minute drive north of South Lake Tahoe, so there was no pick-up fee. Worth Every Penny. This was an amazingly smooth adventure from booking all the way to waving goodbye as the boat drove away! The spot where you meet him is amazingly beautiful and worth the drive – I could have spent all day there. “Great 1/2 day on Lake Tahoe with Captain Dave. First trip to Lake Tahoe. Three adults and 3 teenage boys 12-18 years old. What a fantastic time. We had the morning time slot so the parking lot was empty and very close by, bathrooms were clean and also nearby and Captain Dave had everything set out waiting on the beach. When we left in the early afternoon, things had really filled up. The jet boat is spotless, very well equipped and the ride is smooth. Don’t underestimate the value of having no deadly propeller to deal with every time you are getting in and out of the boat from a water activity. Tubing was fun beyond expectations, even for those in our crew who are tad water shy. Captain Dave was 100% responsive to the desires of his passengers and was a knowledgeable guide with interesting tid bits to share about the lake and the sights. We particularly appreciated that he spelled everything out in advance as regards required paperwork, directions, how to dress, what to bring. We followed his recommendations and pointers, arrived on time and were equipped with everything we needed to be completely comfortable for the duration. Exhilarating day. “Fantastic lake experience on Tahoe Jet Boats. This was my 2nd time on a boat on Lake Tahoe but my first time with Tahoe Jet Boats. What sets Tahoe Jet Boats apart is that Captain Dave is an owner/operator and really cares to give you the best Lake experience. We were a group of 6 but one of my friends had to catch a flight back early, so needed to get back to shore only 1.5 hours after we started. No problem as Captain Dave put those Jets to use and made sure she was back at shore but without us losing too much fun time on the Lake. He brought us to all the prettiest places and we had time to idle and take in all of the beauty. We did tubing and he even was able to get us close enough to be daredevils and jump off the rocks at Rubicon bay. The boat seats 6 comfortably and provides a very smooth ride, even when it is a little choppy. I would definitely rent from Captain Dave again. He is responsive to emails and provides all the essential info on his website ahead of your bookings.” –Megan S

“The man who runs this company is nothing short of AMAZING Captain Dave… where do I even start? From his eager to help attitude to the detailed instructions on how to book, where to meet, and what to bring… I was 110% happy with this excursion. We booked 4 hours with Dave on his jet boat, which was plenty! His boat was pristine clean and went over the lake tahoe waves like butter. He was very accommodating from beginning to end. I can’t believe he runs the show by himself. When my family goes boating, we all work as a team. For him, he made it look easy! He gave us the history of the lake, brought us to some great scenic spots, and overall tailored our adventure the way we wanted it to go. We enjoyed hiking up to the tea house in the middle of Emerald Bay, enjoyed some wakeboarding, and utilized the 3 man tube. I can’t say enough good things about Tahoe Jet Boats. “Do This Now-You Will Have a Blast. Captain Dave is a great tour guide, boat captain and camp leader. We hired him and his boat for a five-hour expedition of Lake Tahoe. We wake-boarded, water-skied, rode the floating Barco Lounger and even hiked to a teeny tiny castle. All with a three-year old and a six-year old. The kids loved it. We loved it. You will love it, too. As Dave grabbed skis and rigged up the wakeboard, I was reminded of boating with my father. My Dad would be furious at all of us for being in the way, and the fact that he had invited anyone to go boating in the first place. Not Dave. He was calm, cool, collected and happy to do anything we asked. And if you’re local and have some pipe dream of getting your own boat with all the toys, the maintenance alone will cost you a session out on the water with Captain Dave. “Dave was an excellent host and captain. Our group of 6 guys were staying in South Lake Tahoe, which was not far form the pick-up location. Dave was extremely flexible with his schedule and allowed for us to have a fun, care-free afternoon on the lake. “Our funnest day on the lake! We did the full day (which I highly suggest). The boat was really nice and well kept. Captain Dave was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the lake. He took us to a really nice secluded beach area, where we had fun swimming and relaxing. We ate lunch at a waterside cafe which was a fun experience. He was very attentive to what we wanted to do and was constantly snapping photos which he sent to us later that same day. He also answered my daughter’s endless questions with patience, which I appreciated! If you want a day to just have fun and play on the lake, don’t wait, book your day today! “Wonderful Adventure on Lake Tahoe! This was our first time visiting Lake Tahoe. We rented a vacation home for a week for a family getaway that included our adult children. Not being familiar with the lake, we arranged to have three half day trips with Tahoe Jet Boats. Captain Dave made sure we enjoyed the best Lake Tahoe has to offer. He tailored each day to our specific desires: water sports, sightseeing, rock climbing, relaxing on the boat and on a beach and stopping in for punch at the pier bar at Chamber’s Landing. He was a patient water sports instructor to some novices in our group. He taught us a lot about the lake, its history and its weather patterns. His boat is equipped with everything you might need to enjoy a day on the lake including a wakeboard, waterskis, snorkeling equipment and a three person tube. He provided beach chairs and stand-up paddle boards. He was personable, prompt and attentive to safety. He took so many pictures and sent them to us immediately. “1st class service on the lake.After a few hours researching boat rentals for the south shore I stumbled upon Tahoe Jet Boats website. And boy am I glad I did. What a treat it was to enjoy the lake with your own private chauffeur. It was so easy to understand what they offer and costs by just reading through there website. And I was surprised that the costs was the same versus other companies. But what you get from Tahoe Jet Boats is the choice of water skiing, tubing, snorkeling and wake boarding. “BEST DAY IN TAHOE! We went out on Captain Dave’s Tahoe Jet Boat in early August. On our last night in Tahoe, my husband and teenagers agreed that it was the best thing we did all week. Dave took us out to the middle of the lake, where he pointed out geological features and the deepest spots in the lake, and then down to Emerald Bay, where we saw several ospreys in their huge nests before jumping off the boat to climb up to the teahouse on Fannette Island. Captain Dave knows how to provide a safe but exciting tubing experience — he worked his way to and from Emerald Bay and Sugar Pine Point like he was doing donuts in a parking lot. “Easily the most fun I’ve had in Tahoe without snow.We rented a boat with Dave for 4 hours on a Saturday morning and had such a blast! Everything was awesome–the parking lot we had intended to meet at was blocked off, so Dave met us out at a nearby beach and drove us out on a zodiac with no problems. He was friendly, professional, and energetic, and had every piece of water sport equipment you could ever want. We tubed, wake boarded, water skied and laid out in the sun while getting to see some of the prettiest sights on the lake. Dave was an awesome wake board and water ski instructor, and coached a few of us through getting up on our first try! (Going out early was perfect, since the water was flat enough for the beginners to get the hang of) Plus, the biggest bonus for our big group of girls — he took HUNDREDS of awesome photos over the course of our trip and had them uploaded for us to use by the next morning. “Originally we thought we wanted a Tahoe rental boat we’d drive ourselves, but after comparing rental/charter prices in north and south Lake Tahoe, we agreed the all inclusive Tahoe Jet Boat was the safest boat for our kids to do watersports and the best value. Tahoe Jet Boats responded promptly to my online inquiry calling me back in minutes answering all my questions so we made a reservation to have the boat meet us at our rental home dock in Rubicon Bay. The boat arrived early and it was impressive, much bigger than I had anticipated (google: yamaha 24 foot boats) and spotless. After a quick safety briefing our party, three adults and three kids, boarded and immediately realized it’s a really fast and comfortable boat!
Captain Dave was so patient with the kids, he gave them detailed instruction on how to ski and wake board (they’d never done it before) and he was a really positive coach when they had repeated difficulty getting up. Finally, after several attempts, everybody succeeded and the on-board Gopro captured the best moments for the kids to post to their Facebook walls.
After watching the kids initial struggle with boarding and skiing, the adults opted for the 4 person wake tube. Captain Dave towed us slowly into the middle of the lake with big lazy turns getting the tube to skip over the wake like a stone and then we circled back to Rubicon Point, past the DL Bliss wilderness which was a perfect way to experience the beauty of Tahoe without the crowds. The entire Tahoe Jet Boats experience was fantastic, from the booking conversation to the amazing pictures and GoPro video of our day of Lake Tahoe action. Highly recommend them!!” – Cynthia S

“Tahoe Jet Boats and Captain Dave made the end of our trip just memorable! We had an absolutely beautiful day. He convinced us to go in the morning which was a blessing. Had the lake to ourselves for a while and it was definitely more calm than later in the day. Picked out the most beautiful beach to dock from and went to the west shore of Tahoe which definitely has the prettiest beaches and water. Even trekked out and found 2 bald eagles sitting in a nest! Had binoculars for us to take a look. Had 2 teenagers with us and Dave was very patient in having them attempt to wakeboard. Ended up just tubing with the kids and it was awesome! I think my daughter went 1 hour straight on the tube by herself! Dave was very accommodating and did just as much and as little as we wanted. He even jumped in the freezing cold water with us to take pictures! “Can’t say enough about how great Captain Dave is! We have gone on his boat twice this summer and can’t say enough great things. After losing a friend three years ago in a boat propeller accident in Tahoe we were very nervous about any kind of boating at all. But since Captain Dave’s boat is a jet boat (no propeller) we feel so much safer. We own a house in south Tahoe and Dave meets us where it is convenient for us.
